Traditional Lime Pointing:
We specialise in traditional Lime pointing. 90% of the time the problems we come across on various projects are directly to do with the cement pointing, which has been carried out post construction for an ‘easy fix’. This can cause many issues from stone decay to internal damp problems. To deal with these issues, is to remove the cement pointing and re-instate the lime mortar which allows the masonry to breath. Lime is a tried and tested building material and has been used for hundreds of years.

Stone restoration and conservation:
If areas of your property including stone / brickwork have started to fail, we can use a variety of techniques to restore it back to its former glory. From 800-year-old churches to garden walls, we aim to remedy any problem to the highest possible standard.

With over 20 years of experience working with stone and brick, we can carry out any building work from repairs and patching, to new builds and retaining walls.

Stone and brick cleaning:
Being exposed to pollution and weather conditions for many years, stone and brick can build up a layer of dirt and grime. This can be removed with a gentle clean or the specialised masonry friendly Doff system.

Why repoint my property in traditional lime mortar instead of cement?
Cement-based mortar can cause problems to a building and needs to be replaced with a more appropriate lime mortar. This type of mortar offers breathability, flexibility, longevity and promotes the overall health of the stone.
